Windows 10: I don't get the "What device did you plug in?" popup anymore even though it's enabled.

My laptop is Dell Vostro 15 3500 2020, and the headphones are JBL Quantumm 100 if models are needed.I have tried reinstalling audio drivers several times, re-enabling the show popup option in the dell provided MaxxAudioPro app, going to mmsys.cpl and trying to enable jack mic - but it's showing up as unplugged. I figured out from the help of others that it's because the device is recognized as only headphones and not headphones with microphone and jack mic is hence not an option, however there is no popup or setting that lets me change it ever since I've upgraded to windows 11. To have clarity on your query, kindly help us with the following information:

• What is the make and mode and model of your PC?
  
• What is the make and model of your sound card?
  

Ideally, these controls are managed by your sound card drivers. If you’re using Realtek sound card, I suggest you to enable the auto popup dialog whenever a device is plugged in, in the Realtek HD Manager and see if it works.

• Open Control Panel and categorize by
  Small Icons.
  
• Locate Realtek HD Audio Manager and open the same.
  
• Click on the small folder icon below Device Advanced Settings
  and to the right of Analog Back Panel.
  
• Check Enable auto popup dialog, when device has been plugged in and
  Save the changes.
  
• Exit Realtek HD Audio Manager, reboot the machine and plug in your headset to see if it works.

Enable auto-popup



a. Press Windows key + X, choose Control Panel, select
sound.

b. Scroll down and select Realtek HD Audio Manager.

c. Click folder icon just above and to the right of where it says analog back panel and just below Device Advanced settings.

d. Click Enable auto popup dialog when device has been plugged in.

e. Click OK twice.

f. Now, restart computer and check the issue.
