  1. I don't have a headset connected but my audio keeps switching to a headset

I have an HP 15-dy1074nr laptop. It's brand new. It keeps switching from the built-in speakers to an audio device called "Headset Earphone XBOX_360_DEVICE_00:01." This only happens when playing audio - it switches after about 5 seconds, then switches back about 5 seconds after the audio stops, at which point my volume control only shows the built-in speakers as an available output. Not only do I not own a headset, I don't own any Xbox products either. Strangely enough, this mystery headset and a second mystery device called "Headset Microphone XBOX_360_DEVICE_00:01" show up in Device Manager, despite never being connected nor having any drivers installed. I have tried uninstalling both devices and restarting my PC, yet they keep reinstalling themselves.

    :)

  2. Headset mike not recognized - can't open Audio Manager

You could try going into settings and running the 'Troubleshooter'. Although this might not work as I think it may be a software/driver issue.

Ah okay. I have had a look at the manufacture Nubwo, and there doesn't seem to be any official drivers or software listed.

Thus I would suggest we try and uninstall everything related to the headset, and then let everything install automatically, as it had done on the other desktop (assuming everything was automatically configured, and it just worked).

1.) See if you can first remove the Realtek Audio Manager 1.0.0.222 software by uninstalling it.
    • Settings > Apps > Click on the app and select 'Uninstall.'

2.) After that right click on Start menu (*Start) and select 'Device Manager'
    • Under the 'View' tab, select 'Show hidden devices'
    • Then click on the arrow before 'Sound, video and game controllers' as well as 'Audio inputs and outputs' (this should drop down to reveal a list of audio drivers and headsets)
    • I can help you with which driver (in relation to your headset) to uninstall, if you post back with a screenshot.

Optional.) Or if you are comfortable with knowing which driver to uninstall, then do so
    • Right click on the driver name > Uninstall (Check 'delete software for this device'). Perform a restart and plug the headset back in.

  3. Headset mike not recognized - can't open Audio Manager

    Welcome to Ten Forums overlordfombax

I would first just like to check how exactly the gaming headset is connected to your PC...
    • By a splitter do you mean both a mic and audio (red and green) jacks?
    • Or is it all through a USB port?

I have found this picture of the headset here:

Would I be correct in saying that it connects through USB OR using a Audio 'combined' jack > Audio jack and Mic jack
Meaning that the USB OR the Audio jack and Mic jack are connected to the computer.

Edit: Also when you say you have tried the other computer. Did the drivers and the audio program install automatically?
In addition when it worked on the other computer, was it connect via USB or by using the two audio jacks?

I don't have a headset connected but my audio keeps switching to a headset

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue I don't have a headset connected but my audio keeps switching to a headset :p
