    I don't have key and need activation...this laptop was a gift. That purchased from someone!


    I am getting a error code 0x803f7001 stating my windows can't be activated because the previous version of windows was not activated prior to upgrading to windows 10 it says i have windows 10 pro how do I activate I don't have a product key

    Using a Microsoft gift card for purchases

    Thanks for your response.

    I do get a method of payment option, but it does not list my Microsoft account. There is also a place for debit/credit/gift card payments, but my gift card number does not match the spaces needed.

    Any other suggestions?

    They were available through PayPal for awhile

    This bit in the FAQ about not being able to use your current wallet balance isn't that great

    We don't work for Microsoft.

    I suggest that you ask whoever asked you for proof of purchase where they want you to send it to.
