Windows 10: I don’t have the product key since I was not the original purchaser.

I bought my PC from someone else and when it arrived it said I needed to enter a product key after a few weeks and now I have the watermark that says I need to activate windows. I don’t have the product key since I was not the original owner of the PC and I don’t have their contact information anymore. What should I do?

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things:

• What do you mean by Windows 10 product key?
• Are you referring to previous Windows key?
• From where did you purchase the product key?

If the operating system was preinstalled (OEM) then I suggest you to contact the manufacturer or if you have purchased the product key from retail store like Microsoft store or from any store I suggest you to contact them to get the Original Windows product
key only then we can activate the Windows 10.

What do you mean you HAD to install W10 ?

If you don`t have a key you`ll have to buy one, or use a 7 or 8 key as suggested.

 

Cannot activate Windows 7 Professional with original product key

Where did your "original product key" come from?

• On a COA sticker attached to your computer?
  
• In the packaging of a retail copy of Windows 7 that you purchased?
  
• Somewhere else (please specify)
