Windows 10: I dont know why I could not even open up my security center, if I open it up in settings it...

I have already tried the stuff online like sfc scan, and the msc settings. the sfc scan said that it fixed the corrupt files but it did not fix it. And in the msc settings, it shows that the security center is running, and there are no options for restarting it. Also when I try to open it from settings and once I click on sericuty part the whole setting freezes and I can not do anything

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows Key + R and put services.msc in Run dialog box. Click OK to open Services.

2. In the Services window, scroll down and look for Security Center service. Since you’re facing the issue, the service should be disabled then. Double click on the same service to modify the status of it.

3. Now in the following window, select the Startup type to Automatic. Click Apply followed by OK. Then click on Start and again click on OK.

Win 10 Defender Security Center Not Opening

The Security Center (MASCuiL.exe) starts at startup and the icon is in the notification area. It scans as scheduled and appears to be working correctly albeit I cannot open the interface by clicking on the icon, or from the Start menu, or from Settings
- Update & Security - Windows Defender. The services are running and Task Manager shows it running, and it shows security is on in Control Panel - Security & Maintenance - Security. I can open MSACui.exe and it will show the last scan and the other details,
so I know it is scanning and working as it should. I just cannot open the interface for the Security Center as I always have. Not sure what caused it as my other two computers both running Win 10 are fine and this is after the February updates I did Tuesday
on all three computers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Open Windows Defender Security Center in Windows 10  


I noticed tonight that windows defender or the windows defender security center both are not in my all apps list. When I start ms services it shows that defender is running. I just can't seem to open the security center. When I try to via the settings window, nothing at all happens. No error message, nothing. I rebooted and still nothing.

My calculator and photo viewer also quit opening but right now I'm more concerned about windows defender since I don't have an alternate av on my system.
