Windows 10: I entered correct Product key to the option "Change Product Key", but it says that 'The...

I found my Product key from command prompt admin, but when I try to activate it, it prompts an error that the product key didn't work, Try again. I checked it twice and it was correct, but it isn't activating, help.

Unable to use the option Change Product Key

II have a product key for windows pro. When I go into Settings to change product key from Home to PRO, It asks for Product Key which is filled in with X's and 0's. When I try to enter my product key it will not let me enter my key. As soon as I try
to enter the first Digit, it does not accept it and immediately goes to message saying I entered a wrong product key. How do I correct this problem. I installed the Pro edition but it will not activate it because it says I do not have a product key. Can
anyone help me??

There is still a way to search for your product key. Kindly follow the steps below for you to know your product key:

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (admin)
• Enter the following command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
• Then hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it.

You need to transfer your Windows 8/8.1 license to a new computer, because the automated phone activation system does NOT work on Windows 10, if you see an error message that says "This product key is being used on another PC" and if you are using a Windows 8/8.1 product key.

So you will first need to perform a clean installation of Windows 8.1 to a new computer (enter your Windows 8/8.1 product key) and then activate your copy of Windows 8.1 via the automated phone activation system (select the "Call support" option). When Windows 8.1 is activated, just do a fresh Windows 10 install (enter your Windows 8/8.1 product key), or you can upgrade Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After the Windows 10 installation is complete, Windows 10 will be automatically activated online.
