How to disable trackpad for HP Elitebook 840 G5

As the question states, I am simply trying to disable my touchpad on my HP laptop. So I think this is very specific for the HP Elitebook 840 G5 as I have tried the following generic methods to disable the trackpad:

Under mouse settings, using the Synaptics tab. This tab does not exist for me. (Reference https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03882926)

Disabling the Synaptics driver. I thought this would work for sure too but I tried to disable all of the mouse drivers available under Mice and other pointing devices (Device Manager) and the trackpad still works.

Using third party software. I tried "touchpad-blocker" and even when enabled, the touchpad still works.

Double tapping the top left corner (how do i disable a touchpad on an hp elitebook 850 laptop? - HP Support Community - 5480918) This does nothing for mine.

I am open for other suggestions. I am really surprised that disabling the driver didn't work.

Performance problem with HP ELITEBOOK 850 g5 i5 8 generation

Hi guys , recently i am facing an issue with my newly bought hp elitebook 850 g5 8gen , it works very slow on balanced mode it lags like its a pentium 4 i have compared it to my old laptop but the old one runs faster on balanced mode as soon as my new laptop is connected to power or is set to high performance mode it works smoothly, on balanced mode its base cpu speed is 1.9ghz but it works on 0.8-0.9 ghz maybe it can be the issue i have also tried to make my own power plan as same as balanced one to check if it works but it didn’t worked , the problem i can’t keep using it on high performance mode as it heat up alot on that mode and also battery drains fast does any one know what the issue may be ?
