My computer froze up with the message to call a number and it was supposedly Microsoft and I fell for it. Anyway he told me when I called to open the CMD and type in certain things. What should I do to fix my computer. Has my computer been infected? I have left it off ever since finding out that was fake. I feel pretty stupid

I fell for a scam thinking I was calling Microsoft and the scammers added a phone number to my laptop on the bottom tray. how do I remove it?

 

Phone Call - scam

My husband received a phone call yesterday and unfortunately fell for the scam. He let them into his computer and then gave them a credit card number! I fortunately got all charges cancelled, thanks to fraud alerts from our bank. They tried to run our
card 17 times. Then this morning I received a call for my husband again, from someone with an India accent. That is not my only problem, they did something to the computer. There is a screen that comes up now that is password protected. Just received a call
and they told me if I ever wanted to get into the computer again I needed to enter the password. They gave it to me but I have not entered it. Any suggestions on what to do next. We have lots of pictures that I would like to retrieve.

 

Phone scam

I wanted to try NoMoRobo but found out they don't do flip phones. I get inundated with robo calls constantly. The best I can do is add their number to my contact list and then adjust my phone not to ring on that number. Still, they'll keep calling from different nos. It's a never ending battle. These nitwits should be locked up! *Mad
