Windows 10: I find 2 different product key in my computer. Do both of my product key works?

Fact:

1.I found 2 different product key in my computer.

2.The first one is from motherboard, and the second one is from regedit.

3.I use

$wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

to query the product key in motherboard.

4.I find the second in regedit dir: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

5.I have never upgrade or downgrade or using KMS service provided by my university.

6.I choose professional edition when I purchase my computer.



And I tried the following things:

1. Check both keys in VAMT, the result is that both keys are for professional, OEM.

2. Connect to my virtual machine via hyper-v, and try to activate a new professional version of Windows. The first one (from cmd) doesn't work, but the second one (from regedit) activated successfully.

3. Reactivate my host computer using the two diferrent keys, and both of them activated my computer successfully.

4. Use $slmgr /upk to unload current product key and try anothe one. Once that success, use $ slmgr /dlv to check the last 5 words of the current key.


All above include:

1. my host computer can use 2 different product keys to activate, one from cmd (motherboard), and another one from regedit.

2. my vm can only use the product key from regedit. (Not its regedit but host's)


And my question is:

1. How many keys do I have? One or Two?


2. Can I use one of them to activate another REAL or VIRTUAL computer? (If that key is not used by my host computer.)


3. If can, how many times can I activate another REAL or VIRTUAL computer?

3.1 Is there any restrict? e.g. I have to log in my own MS account and so on.


4. I heared that one professional key can activate multiple machine. I want to verify whether it is true.

4.1 If true, is there any restriction when using those machines? e.g. I have to log in with my own MS account or others.

4.2 If true, once I use $slmgr /upk to unload from one of my machine, does it still count in the total number of machines this key can activate?

Different Product Keys?


Have an Acer with a COA showing the product key for Windows 7.
Use this one for activation.
Ran Belarc Advisor, and it shows a different Product key for Windows 7.
All Acer's with 7 home have that same factory key.

Any clues as to why he PKs do not match?

Also, planning to install Windows 10 Home, and wondering which of these Product IDs it will affect when it digitally signs the install.

Product key not recognized

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to respond to my query. I have to say some of the suggestions assume a tech capability beyond me.

I think I will find the original receipt, go back to the shop, and ask them for the Product Key, then try again. I suspect it was an unauthorized copy. Maybe that will work.
