Windows 10: I find links to previously viewed websites in address bar

Discus and support I find links to previously viewed websites in address bar in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I use a computer running Windows 10. But my query is related to the Internet Explorer. When I am searching for something in the address bar, I see blue...     I find links to previously viewed websites in address bar


    I use a computer running Windows 10. But my query is related to the Internet Explorer. When I am searching for something in the address bar, I see blue links to the websites that I have recently viewed. It happens even after I've cleared my history. I also tried to fix it through full restart of my PC. Any ideas how do I disable it?

    Hi Zach,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to open actual address of websites with short forms as you wish:

    • Open Microsoft Edge, click on More actions(...) at the right top corner.
    • Click on View advanced settings, under Search in the address bar with
      click on down arrow.
    • Choose <add new>, try to add the default website.
    Secondly, as opening pages in new tab is set by design, I suggest you to provide this as a feedback.

    Firefox Address Bar Suggestions


    With a brand new and previously unused Profile I do see suggestions for R, but only built-in generic Mozilla ones.

    Hi,
    Go to Internet Options, click Autocomplete Settings in Content tab, tick "Suggesting URLs" box and click OK.
