nvlddmkm.sys is definitely the Video driver from NVDIA. How did you re-install it ? Try to re-install the driver download directly from: Drivers | GeForce
Select custon install, put a check mark on "Complete re-install".

Your MB also have a dual BIOS switch (A and B) on the bottom right. You can use the old BIOS version by putting the switch to the other position.

Thank you for your reply. I reinstalled the nvidia driver by using the method you described. I did a clean reinstall as indicated in your post.

While I agree with you that the nvlddmkm.sys is a nvidia thing, Tom886 must be on to something as all problems are resolved when I go to a point prior to installing the chipset drivers. The moment I install them, the problem occurs again. I am now using my pc without any chipset drivers or drivers from the MSI site and it's never been more stable. unfortunately, that also means I cannot play Overwatch (giving me a GPU error, all other games are fine), so something has to change.

With this information, what do you suggest we do?

    As a summary:

    - I have flashed my BIOS in an attempt to fix incessant freezing of my GPU and error reports in my logs regarding the PCI slot. These problems are now actually, for the first time ever, resolved. I'm very happy about this. My motherboard is MSI x99s SLI Plus.
    - However, my pc is now crashing the moment I install chipset drivers and the other intel drivers from the MSI site. I cannot verify if the crashes occurred prior to the "biosflash. The logs read its a nvlddmkm.sys problem, but Tom886 suggested it may be a Intel chipset issue. The crashes are different: screen can turn itself down, Windows log entry will read GPUdriver failure and sometimes the pc will boot with windows drivers instead. The newest problem occurred when the pc rebooted itself, without generating a log entry or a dmp file.
    - Without Intel drivers, my pc is actually working and stable, except:
    - The game Overwatch refuses to boot claiming it could not find a supported GPU. All other games I tried work (No Man Sky, Dark Souls 3, WoW). I purposefully did not update the drivers to the newest one as to avoid problems for now (I need my pc in working order at least this week to wrap up some work). The drivers are really not that old, it's the driver that was most recent before Win10 Anniversary Update nvidia driver. Having fully updated drivers did not resolve the issue before either anyway. The game ran before on the same version of this driver.

What is the next step? I would like this: - All drivers installed and up to date; No crashing; Games actually booting, in that order of importance.

Hmm, try do jump ur CMOS see whether it helps?
As for reinstall GPU driver, did you use DDU?
and I not sure whether latest driver had issue, you can always go ge.force forum to check which driver version is more stable.

Tom was pointing out your 1st error issue , in the 6th post , which points to a Chipset issue as it is an intel device (8086) , your secondary posts also mentioned the Nvidia Driver failing ,which is likely a driver issue too but my 970 is on the latest 374.52 ? version and seems fine right now..

looks like you are have a nightmare on X99 like me ...... don't know about MSI but Asus released new Chipset and ME drivers for the Annivesary Update, 1607 stopped the IMC error I was get in the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool too.

    KB

edit ...had a quick look MSI Chipset no# is the same as Asus but the ME Driver is newer at MEI: V11.0.5.1189

    latest chipset at WinRaid Forums
    http://www.win-raid.com/t895f42-Inte...INF-files.html

2nd edit *Smile my system was updated this morning by M$ to the latest Build .82 and I now seem to have version 10.1.2.10 of the Chipset Drivers. from MS not Intel and the 2FC0 item is recognized as an Intel Power Control Unit Device now. 2F9C is also recognised.

Actually the Chipset driver is not a "real" driver or as Intel states:
. There are no drivers from Intel installed.
Reading the lines from the Installation file, it also refers that the Device ID needs the information from the "machine.inf"
    and
I believe there is an incompatibility between the Nvidia graphic card driver and the Intel Chipset "Driver".
Do you think it's possible to post all your DeviceID's?

    Cheers
    Tom
