    I forgot my PC password and after an update, my PIN did not work. I am locked out of my laptop. Can I use my online microsoft account to get past the windows password on the laptop.

    Windows pin not available after update, forgot password not working

    Hello,

    after last update it is said that something happened and my pin is not working. I tried login with my password but i forgot and when i click on forgot my password it loads but immediately goes back to my locked screen. Please help.

    How to SWITCH login method from PIN to password

    If you get to step #5 and find that there is no option to remove the pin, this worked for me:

    • Click "I forgot my PIN"
    • Enter your account password where prompted
    • When prompted to create a new PIN, click "Cancel"

    This removed the existing PIN and went back to using the account password to log in and unlock the lock screen.
