CPU fan not working properly

The fans are always idle no matter how hot the cpu gets, its hottest ive seen it at is 83 degrees Celsius. the cooling policy is active but they always run low idle, they used to speed up all the time now they don't.does anybody have any suggestions?

Greetings, fellow users, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I am facing several issues with my machine (Dell Inspiron 3847) so you may discover other questions at this site focusing on a specific issue; it's basically on life support so I am desperately looking to keep it "alive" until I can afford to replace it.

The CPU fan in my machine has been "revving" for some time now and despite the supportive advice that I have received thus far, the problem has not been resolved and the other day it sounded like an airplane propeller about to take off--and suddenly stopped. When I restarted it some hours later, I got a black screen (not exactly the BSOD, but close) that said: "CPU fan failure: press F-1 to continue". The fan still "revs" but now I am wondering if the fan's motor is beginning to literally burn out. The black screen also offered another way for me, and that is to press F-8, but that will take me into the BIOS, and this is an area in which I am not that well conversed. My personal maxim: If you don't know what you are doing, then don't do anything. So, I need your help. There is no way that I can procure a new replacement fan for a computer I purchased eight years ago (the pc itself is no doubt older), although I found one that was on e-Bay that was listed as "used." I don't know if I should trust any item that is listed as "used" but at this point, almost anything will do to keep the machine going.

The computer begins to overheat at the outset, and I have to turn it off and on again for it to temporarily stop. I thought that it might be the CPU itself and bought a new one (with the same specs) but that didn't solve the problem, either.

Oh, brother. What a mess. This is a tough one to delve into because it's not a common issue; how many people have to worry about a failing CPU fan? Anyway, I am open to suggestions that will help me get through this. Let me know if I have missed something and I will fill in the blanks. I hope that you all enjoy Turkey Day!

Black Screen after high CPU temperature

Today When I booted to windows 10, After some minutes, Suddenly Mouse & keyboard stopped working. I restrated the PC with reset button & went to the BIOS & checked the monitoring section. There I saw that temperature of CPU is too high (more than 80c) & after some seconds, the PC gets shut down autamatically. After some seconds I turned on the PC & go to the monitoring section of BIOS again. The temperature of CPU started from 55c & went up very fast, And when reached to 84c, the PC gets shut down automatically again.

I checked the CPU fan but it was spinning normally, Opened the CPU fan, & I though maybe its bcuz the lack of Thermal grease. Grabbed some Thermal grease and used some over CPU fan. Put back the fan & turned on the PC. But this time, the screen of monitor is black (All black & without any blinking indicator or something) & It won't even goes to the BIOS now. I then removed all the RAMs & tried them one by one, But got no luck. Even changed the GPU, but nothing happened.

CPU: i7 930
MB: AsRock X58 Extreme3
RAM: 2x2GB Corsair (DDR3) + 2x2GB Patriot (DDR3)
OS: Windows 10

Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
