Windows 10: i get a "windows media feature pack missing" error everytime i start a game. but i have it...

I downloaded Call of Duty Black Ops 3 on steam and when i started it there was no message coming but it just closed itself saying nothing.

then i looked around on my PC and i found out that there was a MFPlat.dll missing which the game needed. I went and installed it but then when i installed it and ran the game there is a message popping up that i have no Windows media Feature pack.

so i went and got it but now its still telling me that i dont have it installed i dont know what to do...

i restarted the PC too so it could finish the installation. the Windows version i currently use is Windows 10 Pro N

It is only the K or N versions of Windows 10 that need the Media Feature Pack to be installed separately . . .

Click your Start Button, then just type wmp

Does Windows Media Player appear in the resulting list and can you open that application?

If so, you do not need the Media Feature Pack

If you try to run that game, what is the exact error you see - please provide a screenshot of that error . . .

 

Problem with Media Feature Pack.

When I follow these steps Media Features are not listed, despite having downloaded and installed the Windows Media Feature Pack! Please help! Can't install GTA: V! Aaaargh!

Open the Settings App

Go to Apps - Apps and Features - Optional Features - Add a Feature, and then locate the Media Feature Pack in the list of available Optional Features

If that is not available to you, (and I don't think it will be) then that game has to be reading your Windows version wrong, because you cannot install the Media Feature Pack into that version of Windows
