Windows 10: I get an error accessing registry fonts when installing QuickBooks -new solution

The topic has been discussed over the years but no suggested solution actually work with Windows 10 anymore, if they ever did. Here is the solution.This worked for QB2000 in a Feb 2023 updated Windows 10 installation. I have not found info to do this anywhere else that still works. You need to copy the install app from program filesx86 from your existing working version to do this.To install in new windows 10:install as usual in Win 10 and get "there was a problem accessing the fonts section of the registry" error. Quickbooks backup

1. Are you trying to create a backup file or restore it?
   
2. When you say ‘it kicks out’, do you mean you are out of the application? Or is it getting stuck?
   
3. Which version of QuickBooks is installed on your machine?
   
4. Do you read any error code/message regarding the issue?
   

This issue could occur when the backup location is no longer accessible. So, I suggest you to verify the file location and reboot your computer. If that doesn’t help, you may check if the steps listed below and see if it helps.

Method: Repair the application.

• On the Start menu, enter Control Panel in the search box and select Control Panel from the results.
  
• Select Programs > Programs and Features, and then select the program (QuickBooks Online).
  
• To fix the program, select Repair or, if that’s not available,
  Change.
  
• Follow the directions on the screen.
  

If repair application doesn’t work, I would suggest you to Uninstall the application and
Re-install it.

However, I would suggest you to contact Intuit QuickBooks support to re-install the application.

Windows 10 & Quickbooks Pro 2011

Please answer the below questions to assist you better,

1. Are you getting any error message?

1. What is the make and model of the computer?

I would like to inform you that Quickbook Pro 2011 is not compatible with Windows 10. Therefore it is needed to install in compatibility mode.

Hence,I suggest you to reinstall the Quickbooks pro 2011 in the compatibility mode and check if it helps,

Please follow the steps below for more information:

• Right click on the setup file of the application and select
  Properties.
• Select Compatibility Tab.
• Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the
  operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
• Click OK and run the setup.

Unable to access Quickbooks application on Windows 10
