Windows 10: I get text messages from 20874 with a "single-use code:" followed by a 7 digit number that...

I have been getting text messages to my phone that say:"Microsoft account single-use code: 4778935"I suspect this is a scam, but I want to know if this means that someone has hacked my Microsoft account and has my account id and password. Trying to get support on this issue from Microsoft is the most frustrating experience I have recently had. Do they not have anyone who will talk to a customer?

security code rcvd 4 digit code but 7 digit code is being requested

Needed to change my cell number to new number security says need to verify by text then enter code but didn't have that cell any longer so waited 6 months finally was able to add new cell number but they wanted to verify by sending me a text with code
"4 digits" but page requires 7 digit code have received to codes but both were 4 digits?

 

Trouble saving voicemail number

To access my voicemail it is my phone number, a pause and 4 digit pin.



I did the following steps:

• Turned off default voicemail number
• Added a , (for pause) at end of my phone number
• Added the 4 digit pin

I get the following error message We're having trouble saving your voicemail number right now. Try again later.



Any suggestions on how to correct this?

 

How do I get a 7 digit code to reinstall windows 10

If you previously had Windows 10 installed and activated on that PC
during the installation process skip the steps which ask for a product key and select the option 'I am Reinstalling Windows 10 on this PC', and activation will not be an issue, your PC will have a digital entitlement stored on the
Microsoft Servers

The 7 digit code is used to confirm your ID with your Microsoft account

Please follow these steps:

• Open the Settings App, go to Accounts
• You should see the "Verify" link just above your picture
• Check your Email to see if Microsoft have sent you a 7 digit code
• Enter the 7 digit code when asked
