I get the BSOD about once per week: systemprofile\AppData\Local\PlaceholderTileLogoFolder

Can anyone tell me what this folder is used for?

    Here's the filepath:

    C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\PlaceholderTileLogoFolder

Unrelated question: I get the BSOD about once per week at odd times. Lenovo X1 Carbon Thinkpad purchased about a year ago.

Thanks for any feedback you can give!

    :)

    New Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast+Slow Build 18362 (19H1) - Mar. 22 Insider

    Hi Thorkell,

I did that A while ago. POST1601918 I even create a notes txt file for my customers in case my old brain forgets.
    (1) ESENT Event ID 455 svchost (11216,R,98) TILEREPOSITORYS-1-5-18 C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log. ADDED MISSING FOLDER.)

That's why I suggested in an earlier post that a section with known bugs (or by design according to MS) and fixes for builds would be nice. *Smile

    deleted AppData Account Picture file

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I understand your inconvenience. We will assist you with it.

I suggest you to refer the following Microsoft help article to about AppData folder.

    What is the AppData folder?

I suggest you to perform System Restore on your computer and check if you are able to get back the AppData folder.

System Restore brings a system to an operable condition after a disaster so that it can again accept and process data.

To perform System Restore follow the step provided below.

    • Press Windows Key + R Key

I get the BSOD about once per week: systemprofile\AppData\Local\PlaceholderTileLogoFolder

    Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are
    • Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
    • No Internet connection during the install
    • static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)
