Windows 10: I get the "Windows Protected Your PC message" , Is my computer really at risk ?

I downloaded iperf2 from this link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/iperf2/files/After double clicking on it, I got the following message: I ran it and then decided to scan it with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Defender detected nothing. 0 threats found ... Why did I receive this message ? and is my computer at risk ?here is the virustotal.com's results: Am I at risk ?

This message will appear when Windows does not know anything about the app you are trying to run. Usually, this appears on apps with unknown publishers downloaded from open-source websites like Sourceforge.

I suggest checking and researching the app before running it to avoid infecting your PC with malware. If you are aware that the apps you're running are safe, you have the option to turn off that message

Windows defender says my PC is at risk.

Does it tell you why it is at risk? Typically, this message may
indicate the program has not been updated.

Have you attempted to manually update Windows Defender?

Any other issues?

Suggest you review the following - - -

Sounds like you possibly have another security program installed or there may be remnants of such a program you previously
used that are still on the computer and are interfering with Windows Defender.

On Windows 8.1/10 when a third party antimalware program (such as McAfee, Norton, etc) is installed the Windows Defender (WD) program is disabled.

If you wish to use WD on Win 8.1/10 you should ensure that any third party antimalware program that may be on the computer (or was previously on the computer before it was upgraded
to Win 10) has been uninstalled. It is recommended that you also run the appropriate software removal tool for the third party program(s) and then reboot the computer. See List of

WD should then be enabled and working properly though you might need to restart WD in Security Service/Action Center.
