Windows 10: I got a brand new laptop today with windows 11. I was signing into accounts and setting up...

This laptop is brand new. Why am I seeing a blue screen within 20 minutes? I've never heard of Bitlocker in my life. My desktop computer that I built has never seen Bitlocker once before but it's still windows 10. Windows 10 works perfectly fine for me so I never felt the need to upgrade to 11. Do I really have to go into the bios and do all this extra work just to get into my brand new laptop? This is just egregious for anyone to have to deal with when setting up a brand new computer. The only solutions are messing with the boot sequence in the bios? Is there really nothing else to unlock

Correct, you would pick up at step 17 in the tutorial below to set up the new laptop if not already, and do step 24 to set up a local account. It will be an administrator account by default when created during setup.

You can then use option 1 in the tutorial below to set up netplwiz to automatically sign in to your account at startup.

In addition, you may also want to turn off require sign-in on wakeup.

Your Microsoft account needs you to sign in again-recent credentials

Yes the correct or current info is in the Settings/Accounts/Your email and accounts.
The steps in the tutorial included signing in after deleting a listing. I couldn't see where that was relevant since its a second listing. It looks like I have to voluntarily do the 'sign in' so I can avoid doing that. I'm locked out for 30 days anyway.
Perhaps its time to set up a stand alone user account in that laptop <grin> Too nerve wracking dealing with this MSAccount.
