Windows 10: i got a spam question

yesterday i had to do a cookie rest in the chrome browser, after doing that i went into the chrome settings and did a password reset. so as i was doing that i got a few red page items. i do not remember now what sites, one was foscam site. anyway as soon as i got the red screen i just closed that tab and then deleted that password line in the password settings.

so later that day i get an email that has my old password in the subject line and some person telling me they will send out my fb and cell phone and such to whom ever. and tons of pron that i do not have. well i knew that was a scam right off because i do not have fb or a cell phone or porn on my pc. and they wanted 2,000$ in bit coin for payment. so then i ran Norton deep scan and that came back without any issues.

so i know this is a scam and i flagged it as spam in my email, but how in the world did he get one of my old passwords? the password was correct, but and old one. i just tried to get on the chromebook forum and it seems i'm now banned for life, so might i expect that soon i will be banned for life on this site as well? i have not yet tried accessing other forums yet, but i'm thinking now i may be banned on them. any one happen to have a solution? like i said i tried the chrome forum but i'm banned so maybe some here can fill me in on this issue.

i do not think any important info got out because all my banking and such has way different passwords this all started because the spell check is not working and that is why i did the cookies reset to see if that helped, then i get a notice of a data breach and half of the forum sites told me to change my password. so i wonder if the few red screen warnings i got had some malware in it enough to glean that old password? thanks. oh if there are any misspelled words the spell check is yet to work and i could use some guidance on that. i tried to download image repair and i ran that but then it just stopped and in looking at task manager the program was not doing anything so i stopped it.

You can move to spam folder all day long and you get the same unwanted emails the next day. What a piece of crap. I'm about to go with a Chromebook or Apple. Microsoft sucks more and more.
