    I got an error screen that said my security and identity was breached and to contact Microsoft.


    I fear that since I didn't shut it down immediately it just was able to do whatever it needed or get what it needed to. Please just let me know what I should do or how to go about it, it's my husbands computer, if I got a virus and not him that would be something, lol. I was on a website I have visited for years, in the last year or so it will have pop ups. In the past when I accidentally clicked the pop up I'd be sent to an ad. I honestly do not believe I tapped anything but maybe let's say I tapped the pop up. Anyways so instantly it started beeping and showing files being transferred and sa

    Microsoft Edge TLS Security

    After trying everything (not a lot of steps) listed in the Microsoft Edge support site, I did a wider search and found this very simple youtube video that fixed it immediately:

    For those who prefer not to click links the steps are simple:

    1. Click in the Cortana search bar next to the Win 10 Start button

    2. Type internet options

    3. Select internet options (control panel) from the list

    4. Click on the advanced tab

    5. Scroll down to the security section

    6. Make sure the following are all clicked:
    Use SSL 3.0
    Use TLS 1.0
    Use TLS 1.1
    Use TLS 1.2

    7. Click apply

    8. Refresh the page that was giving the error and it should now connect.

    Hope this helps, it was a 30 second fix after hours of pounding my head against the error with the Support site suggestions.

    I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better:

    • Have you made any significant changes on your system prior to this issue?
    • What is the complete pop up message that you get on your screen?

    As per explanation it seems that your system is infected with virus or there is some third party program installed on you system causing the issue.

    I would suggest you to follow the method given below and check if that helps.

    Method 1: Microsoft Safety Scanner.
    I would suggest you to perform a full system scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner to eliminate any issues related to virus/malware.

    Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

    The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

    If issue still persists try method 2,

    Method 2: Perform Clean Boot.

    Placing your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. Check this issue in clean boot state.

    Note: After clean boot troubleshooting step, follow the section "How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot" in the provided link to return your computer
    to Normal startup mode.
