Windows 10: I GOT An unsolicited text from Microsoft sending me a "Microsoft account single use code"...

Please can someone help. I have looked all around this site and there is no where I can find to report this,I saw my phone got a text today from microsoft it was in a list of other microsoft texts from weeks ago and it said "microsoft account security code" and the code.It was billed as a "Microsoft account single-use code" and the code.I DID NOT REQUESTTHIS. I DID NOT TRY TO SIGN IN.I have no idea if whoever did this was able to breach i don't always think that iphones are impervious to being breached. It came as a code. and NOBODY has my phone but me. This number originates from Uganda (Africa). This is highly unlikely that Microsoft sent this. As there is no way to report this, ignore this message. Microsoft will never send you text messages, unless you confirmed this yourself to protect your account.
Most of my confirmation codes are being sent from the UK (+44).

 

Stop unsolicited emails from Microsoft


I'm getting unsolicited emails from Microsoft about Windows 10. I see no option in the email or in my MS account to unsubscribe. There are no subscriptions in my Communications Centre to unsubscribe to, either. How do I get Microsoft to stop sending me these kinds of messages? A snippet of one is attached. Thanks.

 

Microsoft Officially Launches Outlook.com

Outlook e-mail does not have Multi-factor authentication in the strictest sense - at least when compared to GMail. However if you try to change anything "personal" about your Microsoft/Live account, then it will ask for a temp code it texts to your phone.

So, yes and no in regards to your question. No, it doesn't require two-factor authentication to log-in, but if you go and try your change some "critical" account settings, it will ask you for a second step of verification. However, in regards to whether the e-mail service specifically offers two-step authentication for login; the answer would be no.
