Windows 10: I got logged out while composing a long post

I just had an extremely frustrating experience while preparing a long post. I was logged in when I started, but when I tried to submit it I was told that I couldn't submit it because I wasn't logged in. When I tried logging in again, all my effort was in vain; the post has vanished, Try as I might, I could not recover it. If you're going to log people out because they've been on too long, at least warn them.

Cannot compose an email in Windows 10 mail app

Hi Wilson,

In order for us to better assist you, we would like to ask a few questions regarding the issue on composing a new mail in the Mail app.

Did you make any changes or updates to your PC prior to the issue?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps before posting this concern? If yes, what are those?

To troubleshoot Mail app, we suggest running the troubleshooter for Windows apps. Check this
link and follow the instructions given.

Smart Compose will appear in the new Gmail

Email makes it easy to share information with just about anyone—friends, colleagues and family—but drafting a message can take some time. Last year, we introduced Smart Reply in Gmail to help you quickly reply to incoming emails. Today, we're announcing Smart Compose, a new feature powered by artificial intelligence, to help you draft emails from scratch, faster.

Draft emails quickly with confidence

From your greeting to your closing (and common phrases in between), Smart Compose suggests complete sentences in your emails so that you can draft them with ease. Because it operates in the background, you can write an email like you normally would, and Smart Compose will offer suggestions as you type. When you see a suggestion that you like, click the “tab” button to use it.

Smart Compose helps save you time by cutting back on repetitive writing, while reducing the chance of spelling and grammatical errors. It can even suggest relevant contextual phrases. For example, if it's Friday it may suggest "Have a great weekend!" as a closing phrase.

Get started

Over the next few weeks, Smart Compose will appear in the new Gmail for consumers, and will be made available for G Suite customers in the workplace in the coming months.

To get started, make sure you’ve enabled the new Gmail by going to Settings > “Try the new Gmail.” Next, go to the general tab in your settings, scroll down and enable “experimental access.” If you want to switch back, you can always uncheck the box.

New Gmail compose formatting and download options for G Suite users

What’s changing

We're adding three new features to Gmail:

Shortcut to undo/redo in the compose window

Shortcut to strikethrough text

Ability to download messages as .EML files in rfc822 format from Gmail on the web

Why you’d use it

Undo/Redo: If you need to undo an action, like if you accidentally delete the content of your draft of an email, you can do so straight from the compose view. Anytime you have undo, you want to also have the option of redo, so we’ve added that as well.

Strikethrough: Strikethrough is a visual cue that something has been completed or can be used as an edit suggestion. We’ve heard from you that this functionality is critical to quickly and efficiently write emails, especially when you want to visually indicate a change in language.

Download as .EML: This format is recognized by other email clients, allowing you to view the Gmail content along with attachments within these clients. In addition, with this functionality users can now add these downloaded messages as attachments in their emails.

How to get started

Admins: No action necessary.

End users - new compose formatting: Click on the formatting menu in the Gmail compose window.

End users - new download format: Open the overflow (three dot) menu and select “Download message.”
