Windows 10: I got myself into some mess on Windows 10 1903

Hey there,

So I took some precautions before I decided to use Auslogics Driver Updater. Basically my boot time to get started was being slow and took longer then usually so I thought I should update any old drivers as well as edit my start up programs and disable a few of those.

I took a system restore and a full backup of all my drivers with double driver.

System restore managed to fix some issues and double driver solves them short term.

Whenever I restart the system my usb keyboard and usb mouse do not respond and I also am stuck with the old windows boot manager with black background instead of the modern blue background boot manager.

I always have the issue with:

the intel chipset not starting up and it not recognizing my Logitech keyboard.


Edit: it seems double driver came through and solved the issue by letting it do a full restore of the backup I made.

In any case what is your opinion of driver updater programs like Auslogics Driver Updater?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
