Windows 10: I had 4 windows desks open for different purposes, many programs and hundreds of browser...

I've had enough of these updates. I am a web developer and I use desktops for design, development, research and casual purposes. Windows decides to update and restarts the pc closing many programs and tabs unsaved.

I don't even know if this is a bug cause windows does this.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

While typing on keyboard opens different programs

• May I know are you pressing Windows key while typing?
  
• Which programs are getting opened?
  
• Are you aware of any changes prior to this issue?
  
• How many language packs are installed on the computer currently? To check navigate to
  Settings >> Time & Language >> Preferred languages
  

I would also suggest you to connect the keyboard to a different computer and check if the issue persists.

I can't set my default web browser

Hi Jorin,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience caused, I will be glad to assist you with this.

It is unusual that you are unable to set a default web browser.

I would suggest you to try the steps below to choose a default web browser again and check if the issue persists.

1. Press Windows key + R.

2. Type control and press enter to open the control panel.

3. Type default programs in the control panel search box and open it.

4. Click "set your default programs".

5. From the list of programs, locate Google chrome or Microsoft edge, click on it and click "set this program as my default".

6. Save the changes and check again.
