Printing to XPS no longer opens document prior to saving

    Hi Nancy,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

    • Are you trying to set the default program for XPS documents?
If yes, you may follow these steps and check if it helps:

    a. Press
Windows key + Q on the keyboard.

    b. Type “Default programs” without quotes and press
    Enter.

    c. Click on
Associate a file type or protocol with a program.

    d. Scroll down to find “.oxps” (OXPS file) and double click on it.

    e. Select
XPS viewer from the list and click on Close.

The above steps will set the XPS viewer as default for the XPS documents.

You may also use the Windows Reader to view XPS files. Let us know if you have any questions.

( WEI ) The Windows Experience Index for your computer could not be computed.

I am stumped with a issue.

    Bear with me.

Had a issue with the Graphics Card so once again removed and re seated Graphics card.

Also un-installed Drivers with DDU and re-installed later Drivers.

    Graphics all okay once again.

    Now ............

( WEI ) Windows Experience Index wanted to be refreshed.

The last successful run was back 12/10/2018 which can be seen in JPG. at the end of page.

    Ran ( WEI ).

    Problem !!!

The Windows Experience Index for your system could not be computed.

" Could not measure storage performance ".

ERROR : Failed to properly asses the disk. The parameter is incorrect.

I take this as relations to my Hard Drive has a issue ?

So i`ve run a FULL Disk Check via CMD

    chkdsk /f/r

WINDOWS REPLACED BAD CLUSTER IN FILE 48134 of NAME \system~\{4B5AA~1.

So its located a bad cluster / sectors and recovered readable information and moved.

Hopefully having marked out that cluster as well.

Also ran Systems File Checker sfc /scannow.

    All good.

    Try ( WEI ) again.

    Same ERROR as before.

    Check in the BIOS.

All good in there in relations to Hard Drive and other parameters.

    My Questions.

    • After the bad cluster @ sectors were marked out wouldn't this minimally reduce the HD size by a cluster and possibly breaking ( WEI )
      ?
( WEI ) no longer sees the correct parameter. Error: failed to properly asses the disk.

    • Could it be that marking out a bad cluster causes ( WEI ) to fail ?
    • Could ( WEI ) be reading a HD ID Chip and comparing it to actual which is now slightly reduced
      ?
    • OR could this be a Windows Update Roll-Up causing a issue since the last time that ( WEI ) ran successfully back in 12/10/2018
      ?
My RESTORE POINTS don`t go back that far which would have been the easy way.

    • Is there a way of re-setting the Hard Drive Parameters to its reduced size ?
    Puzzled.
