Windows 10: I had to reset my Windows 11 and now all my photo icons aren't thumbnails any more.

I have opened the folder options view to uncheck the box for show icons instead of thumbnails, I have done the sfc/scannow, the DISM scan health, restore health etc, associated file types to the photo app I am using, checked disk but nothing is working. Ever since I did reset of windows 11 and all the updates that came with it. My computer is in a solid state but I just can't change the icons back to thumbnails.I even restarted windows explorer and cleared out the thumbnail cache also. I think a recent windows update may be the culprit. Any ideas anyone?

Hi suggest you eliminate Onedrive from the equation and use or put a photo/image file in a folder not synched by Onedrive.

Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly






The native apps from the system are all showing this strange square instead of the normal icons. Please help resolve this problem. Thanks

 

Folder Photos: Showing Thumbnail Photos Rather Than IrfanView Icons ?

Open File Explorer > top right, click Options > click Change folder and search options > click View at top > UN-check the box " Always show icons, never thumbnails" > OK when done.
