I had Win 7 & Win 10 Enterprise on 2 different partitions on a Dynamic Disk (shows in partition managers), all of a sudden, Win 10 gave error 0xc0000225 & eventually stopped booting itself. I tried Windows 10 Start-Up repair, it failed. what are the ways to make it boot again? Is there a way to build MBR of only one partition instead of whole disk (if MBR is the problem)? Problem started when I removed Easy BCD (that I had previously installed) entry from boot menu using Visual BCD Editor. I might have not done it properly!

    :)

  2. BOOT_MANAGER -- SBM v3.7.x : 2 Win-7 Partitions

    Hi Everyone:

I need help with setting up SMART_BOOT_MANAGER (SBM 3.7.1) with 2 Windows 7 partitions. Both partition of WIN-7 are fully independent installations.

I am currently using SBM371 with WIN-7/32 where I have multiple FAT32 partitions and multiple NTFS ( * SEE Attachment JPG )

To get \SBM371 installed and doing what I wanted it to do, it was necessary to FIRST load Windows on the clean HD, thereafter, I could reduce the size of the NTFS WIN-7 partition by, example 50Gb so I could accomodate a DOS FAT32 partition + DOS Logical drives, and after I made a Primary bootable DOS partition, the LAST STEP was to install |SBM371 ***AFTER*** everything else was done, so I have dual boot system.

BUT, I never tried having 2 NTFS WIN-7 partitions on same HD at same time. There is a valid and sane reason for doing this! *Smile I had Win 7 & Win 10 Enterprise on 2 different partitions on a Dynamic Disk (shows in... :)

I installed two (2) Win-7 on a 500Gb HD , then following my own advice, but does not work like with a 1 only Win-7 and several DOS FAT32 partitions. Windows own Boot Manager comes up, ok that is fine, but I need the option to start a DOS session as well. . . so the DOS start-up option must be visiable as well, which it is not at the moment.

    . . . . . maybe is there a way to edit the Win-7 startup multi-boot startup config?

Or else, how to get SBM371 to properly start any of the startable partitions ??

    Thanks.

  3. partitioning and creating a dynamic partition in order to install win 10?

    hi Mr Malik,

well the move to a Dynamic Partition did no harm atal.

Yet it did not solve the Win 10 install issue.

    I had error C1900101 - 30018

The upshot is that the fail took place at the stage of 'Installing Features and Drivers' at 30% of the upgrade.

    This is my typical problem.

The PC then reset and returned to Win 7.

    Any suggestions I'm all ears.

    Thanks anyhow.

    Next time

partitioning and creating a dynamic partition in order to install win 10?

Below is the snip of the Disk Management screen.

There is only Win 7 on c:/ drive and the several programs. Not much data except that contained in 2 OneDrives I have and so in the cloud also.

I have 1024 MG of unallocated disk space which I created to hopefully use to extend the Partition into.

I have an exterior hard rive also as you can see.

The notion for going Dynamic was the concept of extending partition size by allowing it to grow as required by new demands. I figured Win 10 was in need of greater than 100 Mg of partition which I am assuming is Drive B:/ as is displayed.

Let me know what you think...note: I can backup files but not create a System Image to any drive or because the Memory allocated to the Volume required is not enough. (I have had this issue constantly on Win 7.)

    Thanks loads...
