Windows 10: I have 2 English keyboards but only 1 installed

This isn't actually a question, I found a fix and wanted to share it.Go to Time & language>Language & region.If the extra keyboard isn't there do the following:Set "Windows display language" as the extra keyboard.After it appears change back to your desired setting.Pick one of your English keyboards go to options>language options.At the bottom you will find the "Keyboards" section, select add keyboard.Add "US".Remove the other keyboards.Do the same for the other English keyboard.In Language & region go to the keyboard you don't want, go to options, pick remove.And vuala, you

Keyboard in input field problem (not english nor french)

Hi,

I realize the inconvenience caused to you regarding the keyboard language. I will certainly assist you.

Please answer the below questions to assist you better.

1. What is the make and model of the computer\keyboard?

2. Have you tried connecting other keyboards and check if the issue persists?

I suggest you to remove the other keyboard languages apart from English Language
and check if the issue still persists.

Follow the below steps for the same.

• Type Windows + X and then select Control Panel
• Select Languages.
• In Keyboard layout select the language.
• Select the other languages apart from the English language in the input method and then select Remove.

resetting keyboard symbols

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you to remove English UK and just have the default English US under keyboard input language and check.

Step 1:To keep English US as the default input language and to remove other installed services

a. Type Settings in the search bar and click on the setting symbol on the top right.

b. Click on Time and Languages.

c. Click on Region and Languages.

d. Under the languages tab.

e. Click and Change the language to English US.

Step 2:Use on screen keyboard to type the characters (@, “)

To use on-screen keyboard, follow the steps below.

a. Click on Start; type “On-screen” without quotes and hit Enter.

b. Now check if you’re able to get right characters.

English (United States) keyboard getting installed automatically

I understand how frustrating it could be when the features doesn’t work properly. We will need a few more information from you to be able to help you further:

• Was English (United States) selected as a default language while installing Windows?
  

However, you can try uninstalling the English (United States) keyboard by following the steps mentioned below:

Method 1:

1. Type Command Prompt in the search bar on the Taskbar.
   
2. Right click on the Command Prompt icon and select
   Run as administrator.
   
3. Now, type the command and press Enter: Lpksetup /u
   
4. Select English (United States) keyboard and click on Next.
   
5. If you receive any prompt to restart the computer, click on
   Restart now.
   

If the issue persist, please follow Method 2.

Method 2:

1. Press and hold Windows key + X on the keyboard.
   
2. Select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
   
3. Type the command and hit Enter on the keyboard:
   Get-WinUserLanguageList
   
4. Now, you will get the languages that are installed on the computer. Make a note of the language that you want to retain. Example: en-GB.
   
5. Now, type the command and hit Enter on the keyboard:
   Set-WinUserLanguageList en-GB
   
6. This command will remove all the other languages. (In case, you want to add any language again, you can add them from Language settings).
