Windows 10: I have a 32" TV im using as a monitor, Windows 10 finds it as generic PnP but audio finds...

I have had a smaller monitor, connected via HDMI, worked perfectly but ive gone for a larger size.Im connected with the same HDMI cable, although I have used a spare cable and have the exact same issue.Windows finds the monitor as a Generic PnP, but finds the audio via HDMI as 32W_LCD_TVWhen i go to device manager and try to change the driver, and i mean ive tried every single method given online, even down to removing the cable for 5 mins after shutting down, when i select Flat Panel 1920x1080 which is what the TV will display, it goes back to the generic pnp driver.Surely, if your telling it

I would suggest you follow steps to update the monitor driver:

Press Windows + X keys

Choose Device manager

Click on Monitors

Right click on ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and click on update driver

Tap on Browse my computer for driver software

Tap on Let me pick from a list of available drivers

Choose ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and tap on Next

When you are done please restart the computer.

PnP Generic Monitor Problem

Mine is the same way. That's normal. A monitor manufacturer would only issue a driver to support some unique feature of the monitor. Otherwise, all monitors say 'Generic.'

You can easily find out if the manufacturer of your monitor issued a special Windows 10 driver - it will be on the manufacturer's website.

I cannot change the monitor's refresh rate.

The refresh rate is set by your graphics card, not by the monitor.
