    My computer stopped working so I took it to a repair shop where they repaired some connections, removed viruses, etc. When I got it back I started getting random command prompt window popping up then they would disappear. I have run DISM and SFC /SCANNOW to no avail. I removed some registry keys and that has helped so now it shows up about every 9-10 minutes. but nothing has gotten rid of it and now it shows up with the message that This program can't run on this pc. Command prompt works just fine from the search bar. It can be found by searching. Microsoft store works fine although when I ran the troubleshooter for apps I got an error on BITS service NET HELPMSG2182 so I ran the WSRESET and it completed and opened Microsoft Store. I have been unsuccessful in accessing the local policy settings so I haven't been able to check those. At this point I am at a loss to figure out how to get rid of this problem. I have Windows 10 Home 64-bit 1803 17134.590. HP Envy i7-4700MQ, 12 G RAM.

    command prompt will not open in safe mode with command prompt

    Would I just follow the same steps within safe mode after hooking up to the other system?

    command prompt will not open in safe mode with command prompt

    I am repairing a laptop for a friend and I need to access windows in safe mode and the owner has forgotten the password to the main user. I tried logging on with the administrator profile in safe mode but it is not showing up so I was going to use command prompt in safe mode with command prompt but command prompt will not open when I boot that option. Does anyone have any hints for me to figure this out?
