Windows 10: I have a External Hardrive that connects, but will not show in my pc

I have followed guide after guide after guide and they all are a copy-paste of one another and they all tell me to reinstall drives for the USB and well that I have done, but the problem is still ongoing.I have connected the external hard drive onto EVERY SINGEL USB and gotten the same result.PC makes the sound, I look at My PC and I see no external hard drive appear.I check device manager, guess what.. I can see it there. I right-click, update the driver, then timidity get the message that I have already the NEWEST update on it.I then check properties on the external hard drive and it says "

External Hardrive USB

Hi,

I recently bought a KESU USB 3.0 320 G external hardrive. It is not showing up anywhere on my Surface Pro 7. I have tried going into Device Manager and uninstalling and reinstalling USB Root Hub (USB. 3) but still the hardrive is not showing up anywhere.

How do I fix this, so that the Hardrive shows up? It does light up and start working when plugged in, but just does not show up anywhere.

Toshiba external hard drive not recognized

I understand that the external hard drive is not recognized by the PC. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.
It would be great if you can answer these questions to assist you in a better way.

• Did you try connecting the Hardrive to different USB Port?
  
• Does the Hardrive get detected if you try connecting it to a different PC?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  

I suggest you refer and follow the steps mentioned in the KB article and check if that resolves the issueError:
“USB Device not recognized” when you try to access a USB external hard drive

Note: Ignore method 2 & 5 from the above article.

Windows 10 not letting me update it with external hardrive

Hello,

I currently have Windows 10 on my HP Stream Notebook PC 13. For some reason it wont let me intall the Upgrade to Windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586. I have been using my Toshiba external hardrive to intall updates and back up my files. My external hardrive
shows up and works with the computer, but when I go to upgrade it, it doesn't give me the option to use an external hardrive to update it! I need help... How do I make that option show up?
