    Disk management

I tried to create a 50gb disk in 265gb disk and then I canceled it. Now the 265gb disk is showing like 215 gb in file manager but no new 50 gb disk is created. In disk management 265 gb disk showing like 265 gb but the file manager shows 215 gb.

Please help me to recover the 50gb

    Thanks !

  3. Local disk G

    Hi mjking,

Open a command prompt with administrator rights and enter the following sequence of commands:

    diskpart.

    list disk.

select disk {number} eg. select disk 0

    disk partition

    select disk partition {number}

    clean

    that's it

when you open the command prompt and write diskpart than other command window will open than follow the sequence and identify local disk G with disk space comparison when you see diffrent disk partition and finally delete it .

try it and i am here to help you if not solved.

    Disk Management

    Hi Keith,

Thanks for providing the detail that was requested previously. Since the disk management screen that you saw is showing greyed out options, we suggest that you follow the steps below to change the partition type of your internal drive:

    • Open Disk Management then right click the partition on the disk you want to covert and select Delete Volume.
    • Once you complete the process you will see the whole disk shown as two separate unallocated spaces. Right-click the disk and select Convert to GPT disk.

After the conversion, you will be able to use the whole disk and then you can create new separate partitions.

We look forward to your response to our queries.
