Shout-down PC on Friday, 05/23. Attempted to log on on 05/26, but PC returned Blue Screen of Death BSOD--with Stop Code: DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOGAfter multiple attempts to boot-up laptop, the device started requesting for a Bitlocker Key. But, during research within Azure/Microsoft Entra Admin, the Bitlocker Key Review indicates No BitLocker recovery key found for this device. How do we get past this issue?

I can't load my "View Bitlocker Keys". Please help

My other team members confirmed they do not have Bitloacker on and get the the Azure | Device | Show Bitlocker recovery key endless loading issue also. That seems to indicate that if you do not have BitLocker turned on this is what you get.

My Surface laptop suffered some kind of data integrity issue while moving large amount of folders and their files on it’s own hardrive (!) and cannot be started, it goes in to a start-fail loop. All recovery options seem to need a recovery key, I have Bitlocker on but get the endless loop on Azure when trying to view the recovery key. Further, when I tried under Entra | Devices (Preview) it explicitly states that for my recovery request key there is no recovery key.

Even AD and Azure AD admins cannot see the Bitlocker recovery key. Microsoft, for domain joined computers there should be a recovery option for the corporation available to admins.

Right now I am looking at significant data loss. This is not an acceptable situation.

 

Bitlocker and Azure Active Directory

A question about the exact wording of "Save to your cloud domain account". IMO that's not totally clear where it stores it. It infers, to me, that it would save it against my user domain account. However, I suspect it's saved against the device in Azure
AD as that's the only place I can see this. Is this correct?

At the moment, the laptops are set-up by IT using their own account and a key step is to save the Bitlocker key. However, when a user first logs on, we also save it there. I suspect this later step is not needed.

Supplemental question - on the page linked below (which is the link from the Bitlocker screen), it says to access your Microsoft Azure account to get the Bitlocker key:

Can I also confirm that this misleading for normal users as the profile page that this takes you to has no information about Bitlocker:

And that the only way a user can retrieve their Bitlocker recovery key is to ask an admin with access to the Azure portal to look it up based upon their computer name?

Here are other places to look for your BitLocker key:

• In your Microsoft account. To get your recovery key, go to
  BitLocker Recovery Keys.
• In your Azure Active Directory account. For work PCs where you sign in with an Azure Active Directory account, to get your recovery key, see the device info for your
  
  Microsoft Azure account.
