Windows 10: I have a pirated version of Windows 11. I want to buy a genuine one. Help!

I've had a pirated version of Windows 11 for like almost 3 years now, so my computer has a LOT of data that I can not risk getting lost... How do I buy a license for a genuine Windows 11? Will I lose all of my files if I put in a new license into my PC? The thought of this happening scared me so much that I never wanted to buy an actual license but I think it's finally time to do so. I don't really know the process of entering the license for Windows because my brother's friend set the computer for me when I first got it. If anyone has an answer, I would appreciate it. I don't know where else

from pirated windows 10 pro version to genuine windows 10 basic version

So, currently i use pirated windows 10 pro version but i want to change to genuine windows 10 basic version.

is it possible for me to just buy the genuine basic version windows 10 from windows store and use the key for my windows 10 pro pirated version and windows automatically convert the pirated version of windows 10 pro to genuine windows 10 basic version?

Or i have to reinstall the basic windows 10 version and activate it ?

Windows 10 Home on that PC is genuine and will remain that way.

No need to buy anything , you could have just used the Win 10 install media with the Win 7 Home COA key.
The Win 7 install media does not reference the pirate key used to download (from MS I assume), and should be OK.

It seems like that's an OEM windows copy, it will do that the every time you reinstall the OS. If you have the key, next time you see the "not genuine windows copy" click it and choose to activate by phone, everything else is pretty straight forward as it explains step-by-step. If it doesn't work, then its highly likely that you got a Pirate copy.
