    I have a recurring situation where an Excel file I am working on crashes upon save and .xlk...


    I have a recurring situation where an Excel file I am working on occasionally crashes upon save and offers to try to repair it. When I go to the backup .xlk file to restore, it is gone! The crashing Excel file deletes this file too! I have never seen such a thing in all my years. I now routinely backup my backup and restore from there. Do you have an answer for this or can you investigate it? Thanks.

    how to open xlk file

    Hi Eck, an xlk file is an old Excel backup file, try opening it in an older version of Excel . . . I think it is only supported up to Excel 2007!
