    I have a reliably reproducible BSOD in dxgmms2.sys when watching Netflix in Edge


    Hello .

    I am currently using the new Edge browser (the latest stable though I was facing same issue in beta) to watch Netflix as it allow hardware accelerated 1080p playback.

    Every time I finish an episode of a show and click next episode while the browser is in full screen the system crashes .

    My current workaround is to press ESC first to exit full screen and click next episode which seems to mitigate the issue.

    I have GTX 1070 with latest NVIDIA drivers installed.

    Issue doesn't happen in chrome, so I think it's related to hardware acceleration of PlayReady.

    Anyone faces the same issue?

    What driver versions have you tried currently for your graphics?
    If it is the newest version, 361.43, try rolling back the drivers.

    Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
    Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
    2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

    I have a reliably reproducible BSOD in dxgmms2.sys when watching Netflix in Edge [​IMG]

    If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window
