    Hi all good people out there,As the headline says, I have a problem with midi connected with USB-3.0. It has happened several times now that when the PC is shut down several controler units loses the ability to send midi to the PC.The PC on the other hand sends midi to the device without any problem.The devices doesn´t have any specific drivers to update.The units mentioned are these:Icon Qcon Pro XMOTU Midi express XTNektar Impact GPX88 midikeyboardAll these units have worked fine and with no issues for a long time and nothing is changed program-wise or in other ways tampered with.     If possible, please do the following tests to further confirm whether it's the problem of the system itself or the problem of the MIDI device.

    • Connect your current MIDI device to another Surface device/Windows computer to see if it works.
    • Connect another MIDI device to the current computer to see if it works.
    Additionally, if this Surface device is for work, I suggest you contact your IT department to help you figure it out, as each unit has its own unique security policy to secure the domain environment, that we cannot provide further technical support.

    MIDI Keyboard randomly disconnecting and connecting

    Hi,

    My MIDI keyboard just randomly keeps disconnecting and connecting in rapid succession. The keyboard is not the problem because it used to work fine. I have been encountering this problem after a few windows updates. I have tried everything, i mean literally everything i could:

    > uninstall and install sound and usb drivers

    > update the said drivers (windows says the latest drivers are already installed)

    > update windows itself

    > try a new midi cable (USB B)

    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKS!!!

    This is extremely frustrating and I am one step closer to just give up and go back to linux.

    Windows version: 21H2

    Issues with Xbox One Elite Controller and MIDI Keyboards Not Being Recognized on Windows 11

    I am encountering issues with my Xbox One Elite controller and a couple of MIDI keyboards when connecting them to my PC running Windows 11. Despite the controller being listed under "Other Devices" in Device Manager, it is not recognized by the Xbox Accessories app, preventing me from downloading necessary drivers. The controller vibrates upon connection but does not light up.

    To troubleshoot, I have taken the following steps:

    1. Manual Driver Update: I attempted to manually update the drivers. Using the option "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer," I found no drivers under "Xbox peripherals." I then located drivers in \Windows\System32\DriverStore, which resulted in the controller being correctly listed as an Xbox Elite controller in the Device Manager. However, it still does not function, and the device properties indicate "no drivers are installed for this device." A repeated attempt to install drivers from System32 indicates that they are already installed.
    2. Windows Update: I updated Windows to the latest version, hoping it might resolve the issue.
    3. Chipset Drivers Update: I also updated to the latest chipset drivers for my system.
    4. Testing Different USB Ports: I have tried connecting the controller and keyboards to different USB ports, but this did not resolve the issue.
    5. Other Devices Functioning: It's worth noting that all my other peripherals and devices work perfectly fine with this PC. The issue seems to be isolated to the Xbox controller and the two MIDI keyboards.
    Interestingly, these same devices work without any problems on my laptop, confirming that the hardware is functional. I have followed every troubleshooting step listed on the Xbox website, yet the problem persists. It seems that only the Xbox controller and the MIDI keyboards are affected, as all my other devices work correctly on both the PC and the laptop.

    Your assistance in resolving these connectivity and driver issues would be greatly appreciated.
