have a HP All-In-One two year old disktop which I just replaced 1 TB hard drive an am attempting to load a purchased copy of Windows 11 Pro. Get to the set up screen where it asks for location to load and it is blank . Have tried latest drivers on thumb drive but system does not see the hard drive even though I point to the thumb drive that has latest drivers loaded.My problem started when I was working on computer and someone remote started to load software. I tried to block and the only thing I could do was power off. Bitlocker kicked in and wouldn't let me reboot so I was advised to for

Old Hard drive to new hard drive

I now have my old hard drive converted to an external drive and am wondering what is the best way to move files from the old to the new. I was thinking of booting the old drive and saving the files I want to the cloud and then downloading them to my new
computer. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

 

new system old hard drive...

I have an old hard drive that has those old ribbon connections to transfer data to the mother board.

I have a new computer that mostly uses those cool little ATA (I think that is what they are called) connections.

The new computer has a Vista OS.

I opened up the case and I was supprised to see on the motherboard a wide ribbon connection and so I connected the old hard drive and a free power connection.

When I turned on the computer, the system started up like usual and did not notice the new hard drive.

I went to the Control Pannel and did an automatic add hard drive call and it did not find the old hard drive.

Any suggestions?

 

Capacity of hard drives

I've been thinking of upgrading the secondary storage of my pc. Currently my pc (hp-r203tx) have following specifications...

• 4gb samsung DDR3L ram plugged into second slot
• Intel i5-5200 processor
• Nvidia 820m graphics processor with 2GB DDR3 graphics memory
• An HDD of 1tb capacity
• And a dvd drive

Current RAM limit as shown by CPUz is 16gb.

My question is, can I replace my current HDD with a new one maybe with more storage capacity like 2TB or 4TB?

Also, is there a way to exceed the supported memory limit for both hard drive and ram?

And would it be a good choice to go with RAMs of any other brand?
