I have a virtual server that I access via RDP, lately I have experiened intermittent kernel power atmost 3 kernel power interupsions in a day. Any fix to these as its not a physical machine?

Intermittently getting Strange, Pixelated Alien, icon when RDP connecting to Domain Controller Server

Hi,

When RDP connecting to one of our Domain Controllers, we are sometimes getting an icon which looks like a pixelated Alien / Face.

Whilst this is intermittent, it seems to happen only when the server has been rebooted and this is the first time a user is logging in. After login, for a split second the icon will show up. This is the icon which is showing up;



I have found some similar posts, such as the below, however there doesn't seem to be any definitive answers on the cause.

From what I've read, it's looking like it may be some kind of visual glitch caused by RDP cache or some kind of bug rather than anything malicious. (Have also done thorough scans + checked relevant logs.)

• Domain Controller
  
• Server 2016 Standard
  

Has anyone had similar and can confirm the cause? Thank you.

My suggestions:

Hard reset router (reset button may be hiiden inside a pinhole)

Change DNS:

Change IPv4 and IPv6 DNS Server Address in Windows

Use one from the list "Item 7. To Use Custom or Third-party DNS Server Address"

Run WifiInfoView and change router channel if nearby routers are detected on nearby channels.




Log into router and change channel if needed:





Run Wireless Wizard and update network profiles then "Test & Fix"

RDP server for Windows 10 Home?

Is there any way to run an RDP server on Windows 10 Home? I frequently use VNC for remote access but prefer RDP.
