Windows 10: I have a WPD file system driver in other devices with a yellow attention sign.

how do I get rid of the WPD system file driver showing up in Device Manager under other devices?

Method 1:

I would suggest that you reinstall the driver for Microsoft WPD File System Volume.

Reinstall the Microsoft WPD File System Volume Driver manually.

a) Press Windows key + X

b) Click Device Manager.

c) Navigate to “Microsoft WPD File System Volume Driver”, right-click on it and choose “Uninstall”.

d) After the un-installation, click “Action – Scan for hardware changes”.

e) Install the device again.

f) Reboot the computer and see how it works.

Method 2:

The Code 10 error code is generated when Device Manager has insufficient information or the error that is bubbled up by the device drivers is not recognized by Device Manager. Additionally, this error may occur when one of the drivers that the device needs
does not start. If many drivers are being used by a particular device, it can be difficult to determine the one that failed.

Thank you for keeping us posted on the status of the issue. Let me assist you with some more information from here.

At this point, I suggest you to try to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps. Follow the below steps.

1. Go to the location where you had saved your downloaded setup files of the drivers and right click, then select
Properties.

2. Select Compatibility Tab.

3. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode
and select a prior operating system

accordingly from the drop down list.

4. Let the driver to install.

If it still doesn't help, try to follow the below methods before trying to install the drivers again.

Method 1:

This issue may happen due to system file corruption. I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow
the below given steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X, select
  Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.
  
• 
  In Command prompt type
  sfc/scannow and press enter.
  
• 
  Restart the computer.

Method 2:

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state or were irrecoverable, then I suggest you to try the following steps to deploy the DISM command lines:

  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Click command prompt (Run as administrator).
  
• 
  In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press Enter key after each command:
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  
  To close the Administrator: Command prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter.

WPD Drivers have a warning stating they are not working properly on Windows 10 Creators Update

I am running Windows 10, Creators Update. I have the following disks installed:

F:\ Compact Flash, rev 1.01

G:\ MS/MS-Pro, rev 1.03

H:\ SD/MMC, rev 1.00

I:\ SM/xD-Picture, rev 1.02

These four drives are marked with a yellow triangle warning sign with exclamation sign within the triangle in the Device Manager.

To address this warning I did the following:

1. In the Device Manager I ran Update Driver. The Device Manager displayed the message stating that I have the best drivers available for my system. They warning still present.

2. In the Device Manager I uninstalled the four drivers and rebooted the computer. Again all four drivers were marked with the yellow warning sign after the drivers were re-installed.

3. Ran the troubleshooter. The troubleshooter attempted to install a driver but failed, displaying this message:

WPD FileSystem Volume Driver has a driver problem Not Fixed.

Also, if I plug in a USB flush disk, it is also marked with the yellow warning sign, but I am able to see the contents of the directories and files.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
