I have an error message related to fTPM, bitlocker and CPU each time I turn my PC on

Each time I turn on my PC, I get this error message : “Press Y to reset fTPM, if you have BitLovker or encryption-enabled system, the system will not boot without a recovery key. Press N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot, fTPM will NOT be enabled with new CPU unless fTPM is reset reinitialized, you could swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM related keys and data.” I don’t know what this means, I usually press No and it works, the PC turns on, but each time I turn it off and on again, the message is back. Can you help, I am not an expert, I didn’t change anything on the

    :)

New CPU installed, fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP NV structure changed (NO NEW CPU INSTALLED)

I understand that you're facing a concerning issue with your Asus Strix G15 laptop. The message you're receiving seems related to the Trusted Platform Module (fTPM) or Platform Security Processor (PSP), and it's asking you to reset fTPM due to a perceived change in CPU or corrupted structure.

Here are some steps you can consider:

    1. Contact Asus Support:
      • Since your laptop is relatively new and likely under warranty, reaching out to Asus support is a good first step. They may have encountered this issue before and can provide specific guidance tailored to your laptop model.
    2. Check for BIOS/UEFI Update:
      • Visit the Asus support website for your laptop model and check if there are any BIOS or UEFI updates available. If so, consider updating the BIOS as it might contain fixes for such issues.
    3. Press 'Y' to Reset fTPM:
      • Some users have reported that pressing 'Y' to reset fTPM resolved the issue for them. However, this might impact BitLocker or encryption settings, so proceed with caution. If you don't use BitLocker or encryption, this might be a viable option.
    4. Verify BitLocker and Encryption Settings:
      • Even if you think you don't have BitLocker enabled, it's worth double-checking. Go to Control Panel > BitLocker Drive Encryption and verify the status of your drives. If it's not enabled, this might not be the root cause.
    5. Check for Windows Updates:
      • Ensure that your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, Microsoft releases updates that address compatibility issues with certain hardware configurations.
    6. Perform a Clean Windows Install:
      • If the issue persists and you've exhausted other options, you might consider performing a clean Windows install. This can help rule out software-related issues.
    7. Backup Important Data:
      • Before making significant changes, ensure that you have a backup of your important data. If you need to perform a clean install, you may lose data on the system drive.
Remember, if you're not comfortable performing certain steps, it's advisable to wait for guidance from Asus support or seek help from a professional technician to avoid potential data loss or further complications. As you've already reached out to Asus, they should be able to provide more specific assistance based on the details of your laptop's configuration.

  3. error message "new cpu installed tpm corrupted" after turning laptop on

I stepped away from my laptop for an hour and when i came back the screen was black looked like it was turned off. I tried closing and opening the screen since this usually turns on the laptop, that dind't work so i pushed the power button. After this
    the following message was shown.

"New CPU installed. fTPM NV corrupted or fTPM NV structure changed.

Press Y to reset fTPM. If you have Bitlocker or encryption enabled, the system will not boot without a recovery key.

Press N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot. fTPM will not enable in new CPU, you can swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM related keys and data"

I choose the option N since that seemed like the savest option, after this the laptop started and said that there was trouble with my PIN and i had to set it again.

When i restart my laptop again in a normal way trough the menu, the same message is shown again.

I have an Ideapad 5 15, Ryzen 5 45000 with 16gb RAM. Windows 10 Home. The laptop is new

I did saw a notifcation this morning about a windows update, but i didnt click on it.

As far as i know i dont have an Bitlocker (i have read that it's a windows 10 pro thing, and i have windows home)

  4. I have an error message related to fTPM, bitlocker and CPU each time I turn my PC on

After Windows update received ftPM Message but this is not a new CPU, how should I move forward?

I was having trouble accessing Google Drive (desktop not browser) on laptop. I've had this happen before and sometimes a restart resolves it. There were updates available so I went ahead with updates and restart then stepped away. When I came back I had this message. I have no idea what to do because I did NOT install a new CPU so no idea why I am getting this message or what options I should do?

"Press Y to reset fTPM, if you have Bitlocker or encryption-enabled system, the system will not boot without a recovery key. Press N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot. fTPM will NOT be enabled with new cpu unless fTPM is (previously initialised) you could swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM related keys and data ?

    YES / NO"
