Windows 10: I have an HP Pavilion p7-1226s Desktop PC that is running windows 10 and I need drivers

I recently replaced a HD on a HP Pavilion p7-1226s Desktop PC that was running Win 7. I installed Win 10 on the new HD and now I can't get the sound to work . I tried to update the driver in device manager Realtek HD Audio as well as switching to the generic driver.

The HP website states the following:


HP does not provide Windows 10 drivers on HP.com for HP computers sold prior to August 2013. Microsoft has made most of the component drivers for these products available via Device Manager once the product is running Windows 10 with an active Internet connection. To see if your HP computer was tested to work in Windows 10, go to HP Products Tested with Windows 10. (mine is not on the list)


Does anyone know of a comparable driver that I can use for Win 10 OS?

Cannot load drivers for IDT High Definition Audio Codec. HP does not have drivers for my pc and win 10. Is my only option to go back to win 8.1?

I suggest you to get in touch with the Manufacturer, update the BIOS and then try to install Windows 10 and check.
