Windows 10: I have back ups etc on external HDD drives and CDs. Can't see them! HELP

Really, the initial question says it all!What have I tried? Everything advised by answers on the net including Commands such as 'regedit' but nothing seems to work. I've used Ccleaner to see if that helps, clearing junk and unnecessary file etc was good BUT STILL CANNOT see external drives. I had some other problems necessitating in a win 10 reinstall - I needed these back ups of course. Can anyone help please.Kit

External CD/DVD Drive

Hi Microsoft :

I recently purchased an external cd/dvd drive. The problem is with re-writeable CDs. FORMATTING and re-writing. The unit works with re-writeable DVDs (FORMATTING and re-writing. When I checked in DEVICE MANAGER, it lists the drive with the HP brand. Listing it as "hp cd/dvd W SN208FB". Even though the brand name on the drive is Roofull (I got it on Amazon). [Even though SOME USB devices don"t need a driver----some do]

My System : Dell Latitude 7490 laptop......Windows 10 Pr0 64-bit.....16Gb RAM....512Gb SSD.

Should I look into finding an HP driver for this cd/dvd burner ?

Copy Music From External CD drive onto computer , then onto a flash drive

If that's the case, we suggest uninstalling your external CD driver thru device manager. Here's how:

• Unplug your external CD drive.
• Go to Device Manager > Locate your external CD drive > Right-click and select
  Properties > Look for the
  Driver tab > Select Uninstall Device.
• Restart your device.
• Plug-in your external drive.
• Check if you'll be able to copy your music files.

How to Download Music CD's from External Hard Drive to a Flash Drive on a Lap Top with Windows 10

To understand the issue better, let me know where exactly the Music is saved on? Is it on the CD's or External Hard drive?

Step 1:

If it is on the CD's, you may have to copy it the computer first and then copy it the Flash Drive. I suggest you to refer the article to know how to copy music from CD's to computer.

Burn and rip CDs - Microsoft Support

Note: Applies to Windows 10.

Step 2:

After copying the music to the computer, to move it to the Flash Drive Follow these steps.

• Select the required songs and
  right-click on it.
• Select copy.
• Go to the Flash drive and right-click on Free Space.
• Select Paste.
