Windows 10: I have been locked out of my Microsoft account and cannot gain access.

Hi, I have a small business. My receptionists tried updating the Windows password after it expired. They got the error that said that an incorrect password has been entered too many times. I have filled out the validation questionnaire a couple of times. I keep getting an email saying " Unfortunately, our automated system has determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership." I have tried to recover the account from the usual computer that is used. Help! What can I do? Now I don't have access to my work email account!

  What is the status when you enter the password?

  Do you see any error code or error message on the screen?
  

As a work around, if you are using Microsoft Account, I suggest you to connect with internet and check if it helps.

How to gain access to the WindowsApps folder?


To gain write access you need to do two things:

1. Change ownership (it should be "TrustedInstaller") to an admin account
2. Grant that account write access

I'm not sure if it works with every admin account or if you need the "real" admin account which is hidden. It can be revealed by entering the following command in elevated cmd: net user Administrator /active:yes (or active:no do hide it again).

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store
