i have been using word pad on windows 10. my computer upgraded to windows 11 and word pad is gone. i purchased microsoft 365 word, however i still cannot edit documents in word pad

I have started using Windows 11 and created a document using Word in microsoft 365--one version came out correct, but the other didn't and the message stated that it's different with word pad. Is 365 compatible with windows 11?

Word Pad and Word in MS365 are two different apps. Both apps can save files in different types. Both apps work fine in Windows 11.

From your post, it is unclear what the type the file in question is. Did you create it in Word and try to open it in Word Pad, or the other way around? I am afraid that's the part that's unclear to me.

Also, can you find this file in File Explorer, then right click on it, go to Properties, and share a screenshot if you don't mind. Thanks!

How do I change wordpad documents in readable word documents? I downloaded all my documents from my old computer and a lot of them were in word pad and I cannot read them. Just symbols. Can you send me step by step instructions on how to convert please?
