Windows 10: I have been using YTD download app for some time, then all of a sudden Windows10 defender says

    I have been using YTD download app for some time, then all of a sudden Windows10 defender says


    I have been using YTD download app for some time, then all of a sudden Windows10 defender says this app has a virus and deleted the YTD.exe file.

    I can download the app again but once the down load is completed, Windows defender tells me the file has a virus and promptly deletes it. Contacted YTD who replied that the app definitely has no virus. I did try turning off defender before down loading and the same thing happened. The latest version of YTD runs on Windows 7 fine. Has any one else come across this problem?

    Windows Defender Blocking Installations of Downloaded Apps

    Hi Craig,

    There's a possibility that the SmartScreen option is on that's why you're unable to install downloaded apps. Let's try to turn it off and see if it helps. See the steps below:

    • Open Windows Defender Security Center from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
    • Click on the App and browser control button on the left side of the window.
    • Click on Off in the Check apps and files section.

    Let us know if the suggestion helps you out.
