Windows 10: I have been waiting on live chat for almost 2 hours and nobody is coming. I need help please

I have been waiting on live chat for almost 2 hours and nobody is coming.I need help from Microsoft please. Hi, I am absolutely fuming. I upgraded to windows 11 and it completely messed up my laptop. I missed the time to go back so followed instructions to download windows 10 on to usb stick, only it didn't say until after that it had to be a blank stick, so I have also lost all my photos and files that I put on the stick too. After resetting my laptop to install windows 10 again, I now can't even get my laptop set up again. It won't let me set it up unless I give my card details, which after

Long waits in Live Chat

Why the incredibly long waits in queues for Live Chat? After several hours stuck at "2 people ahead of you", I gave up. Is Microsoft making you wait and then timing you out?

Getting to an agent via Live Chat took me over an hour and was extremely convoluted *Confused. So much so that I honestly cannot recall all the steps I took. I believe their system is designed to have one go on a 'treasure hunt' as all other sites with live chat have that little chat pop-up.

I am going crazy trying to find how to contact Microsoft Live Chat Support. The reason is I cannot figure out how to change my 2-step email login verification settings to send the code to my phone. Right now it is sending it to my alternate email. please help - thx
