    I have Edge selected to automatically Start up in Task Manager, to no avail.


    I waited for more than 20 minutes for Edge to start up and as I said above it didn't come thru. I believe the culprit for this was Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry that was heavily using the CPU, while I was looking at the Task Manager. For instance, during this period, I have seem several occasions where Microsoft Telemetry was using more than 99% of the CPU,.

    Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    Click the icon on your Start menu to show the long alphabetical list of all apps

    Find Edge in that long list and drag its icon onto your Desktop to create a new icon

    Open File Explorer, then paste this into the address bar and press Enter:

    shell:common startup

    Then, drag that new desktop icon for Edge into the resulting folder.

    Check if Edge then starts with Windows.
