Windows 10: I have had sound issues for over a year, help?

So my sound is so sporadic. Sometimes it works great, sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes it doesn't work on start up, but 10 minutes in it works. It's usually just a thing where if it is not working I can do some basic things to get it going again, like sliding the volume level up and down a bunch until it finally plays the test sound, or turning off enhancements and restarting, or just waiting for a few minutes.

Recently nothing I do will make the sound play. I use dolby atmos theough Earc on a LG c9 with a HW-Q90R soundbar. It is amazing when it works.

What the hell should I do to get sound again, and have it work properly from here on out?

And yes netflix and shit plays find so my soundbar and TV are working.

Sound problem

Hi,

We need to investigate further so that we can identify the cause of the issue. We suggest running the Troubleshooter and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Type and select Troubleshooting on the Search bar/Cortana.
• Click Hardware and Sound.
• Select Playing Audio under Sound.
• Follow the steps that will be provided.

If the steps does not work. We suggest downloading a fresh copy of the audio driver from Realtek and see if it helps.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue
